PHOTOS: Elizabeth House Fire Tuesday Sparked By Electrical Issue
Elizabeth firefighters responded to the 900 block of Kilsyth Road for the electrical condition Tuesday night, officials said.
ELIZABETH, NJ - An electrical malfunction is to blame for a large residential fire in Elizabeth Tuesday night, fire officials said.
Just before 11 p.m., firefighters from Elizabeth responded to the 900 block of Kilsyth Road for the electrical condition, according to a statement from the union representing the first responders.
An investigation found smoke stemming from a second floor bedroom, as well as a working fire around an outlet in the first floor kitchen.

Responding fire companies opened up the wall to find fire running through the walls and ceiling; the blaze was quickly extinguished, Elizabeth fire officials said, preventing further damage to the structure.
