Westfield Area Y Students Make Camouflage Hats For Wild Animal Day

The preschool students made creative camouflage hats during one of their nine, fun-filled extended enrichment days.

The Westfield Area Y’s Summer Enrichment Class at the Robert & Virginia Bauer Branch located at 422 East Broad Street in Westfield recently made a special project for Wild Animal Day.

The preschool students made creative camouflage hats during one of their nine, fun-filled extended enrichment days. This program offered a different theme day and activities for those who participated in the extended summer enrichment class program.

The children then wore their hats while on a “safari” in Mindowaskin Park in Westfield. They had their scavenger hunt list ready and were able to find almost all the animals on their list including dragonflies and ants but were unable to find any dogs!

The Westfield Area Y offers early learning programs to boost youth development by offering infants, toddlers, preschoolers and their families a safe and healthy place to learn foundational skills, develop relationships and build self-reliance through character development and a structured curriculum.
