"PSE&G is aware and actively working to assess and repair damage to our underground electric equipment in East Orange. The cause of the damage is still under investigation. Currently there are about 400 customers without power. We were able to isolate the damage to impact as few customers as possible. As the crews work to safely restore power, additional customers may experience brief outages."
"Power will be restored in stages and the outage could impact customers into late evening and possibly early Friday morning," PSE&G continued. "We appreciate your patience as repairing electric equipment underground often takes longer than repairing equipment above ground on utility poles. "
"We recommend customers experiencing an extended power outage to stay connected with their local municipal emergency operations officials for information regarding support during the outage," PSE&G added.
