East Orange Woman Reported Missing, Last Seen Headed To Newark: Police

The missing East Orange woman is non-verbal. She was last seen heading to Newark, and is known to frequent Orange, police said.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Police in East Orange are asking for the public’s help finding a missing woman, authorities announced Wednesday evening.

Police are searching for Melissa Reinhardt, 31, of East Orange, according to a social media post from the city.

Reinhardt has been missing since Tuesday. She was last seen leaving the 300-block of Halsted Street in East Orange at 7:30 p.m., and was traveling south toward Tremont Avenue in Newark. She is also known to frequent the 400-block of Park Avenue in Orange, authorities said.

Reinhardt has been diagnosed with autism and is non-verbal. She is 5 feet 7 inches and 150 pounds, with hazel eyes and black hair. She was wearing a blue t-shirt with a photo image, blue jeans, and black sneakers with pink trim (see photo below).
