Essex County College Hosting Renowned Jazz, Blues Singer
Antoinette Montague will be speaking at Essex County College's Presidential Lecture Series.

Essex County College will be hosting renowned jazz and blues singer Antoinette Montague at the college’s Presidential Lecture Series later this month.
Montague will be speaking at the college on Tuesday, March 31, beginning at 11:30 a.m. The free program will be held at Essex County College’s Mary Burch Theater at the Newark Campus.
Montague, a Newark native, has performed throughout the region and internationally. According to a release from Essex County College, Montague recalls spending Saturdays at the Newark Public Library listening to jazz musicians such as Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington.

In addition to performing jazz and blues, Montague serves on a number of boards, including the International Women in Jazz, the college said in a release.
The Essex County College Presidential Lecture Series was founded in 2014 by Essex County College President Dr. Gale E. Gibson in order to host prominent speakers on the college’s campus.
