Essex County Will Spray For Mosquitos In West Orange

Essex County mosquito ULV spray trucks will be out in the areas of West Orange from midnight to 8 a.m.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Essex County will be spraying for mosquitos in West Orange on Wednesday, July 16.

According to an advisory from the township:

“Essex County mosquito ULV spray trucks will be out in the areas of West Orange [from 12 a.m. to 8 a.m.) If weather conditions are not conducive to being able to spray, the spraying will be scheduled for the following day during the same time frame.”

Some local residents left comments on a social media post from the township, including town council member Joyce Rudin, who said that more information should be provided about the specific chemicals that will be used during the spraying.

Rudin also asked for better outreach to the community in the future.

“Transparency and public health must take priority in decisions involving chemical exposure in our community,” she wrote.
