Holiday Diaper Drive In West Orange (Here's What Is Needed)
Several North Jersey companies are pitching in to spearhead a holiday diaper drive. Here's where to drop off items.
WEST ORANGE, NJ — Several businesses from North Jersey are pitching in to spearhead a holiday diaper drive in West Orange, which will be running through Dec. 18.
The drive will be held in partnership with New Jersey-based nonprofit Moms Helping Moms. Items can be dropped off weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Chelsea West Orange, 609 Eagle Rock Avenue.
Needed items include diapers, wipes, formula, baby hygiene items, period products and gently used baby clothes (0-5T).

Local companies involved in the drive include Right at Home of Essex County (Home Care), Patient Care (Physical Therapy), Ennoble Care (Hospice), Hauptman & Hauptman (Elder Care Law), and Chelsea West Orange (New Assisted Living Facility).

Here are some reasons why the drive is being held, organizers said:
- 5.2 million babies and toddlers under the age of 3 live in poor and low-income families
- Diapers cannot be obtained with food stamps, and are classified with cigarettes, alcohol and ped food as disallowed purchases
- Infants require up to 12 diapers per day, at a cost of $70 to $80 per month per baby
