How To Recycle A Christmas Tree In West Orange: 2025 Holiday Update
Here's when you can start putting out your trees, West Orange.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — With the winter holidays in the rearview mirror, many West Orange residents may have a big question on their minds: How can I get rid of an old Christmas tree?
Here's what to know for 2025, according to a municipal advisory:
"Please place live Christmas trees at the curb for collection by our Department of Public Works for recycling, starting January 6, 2025. To notify us that your tree has been placed at the curb for collection, please call 973-325-4067 or email publicworks@westorange.org. Ensure that all trees are placed curbside in front of your home without any plastic bags. All decorations and ornaments must be removed from the tree so that it can be recycled. Please note that any trees placed at the curb after February 1, 2025, will be collected by our trash disposal company."
Residents can also bring their unwanted Christmas trees to the West Orange Environmental Center, located at 590 Mt. Pleasant Avenue.
