Last Curbside Pickup For West Orange Storm Debris: April 8

If you've still got shattered tree limbs and storm debris laying around, time is running out to dispose of them curbside in West Orange.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — If you’ve still got shattered tree limbs and storm debris laying around your yard, time is running out to dispose of them curbside in West Orange.

West Orange Mayor Robert Parisi issued the following advisory on the municipal Facebook page on Wednesday:

“This Sunday, April 8, is the last day residents can place branches at the curb for pick up and disposal. The Township will continue to work for the next several weeks to clean up the branches but all debris must be placed at the curb by this Sunday. Once all debris placed at the curb by this Sunday is removed, there will be no additional pick up of branches and sticks.

“Branches should not block sidewalks, disrupt parking and should not be placed in the street whenever possible. In the event, residents are required to hire a professional tree service to address damaged trees on personal property, the tree service is required to dispose of that material.

“As a reminder, residents can dispose of branches and sticks, at no cost, year-round, at the Township's Environmental Center on Mt. Pleasant Avenue. Additionally, branches can be placed at the curb for weekly bulk garbage pickup if cut in small lengths and tied together.
