Magazine Names JCC Best Gym/Community Center

Suburban Essex magazine has named the The Leon and Toby Cooperman JCC in West Orange as the Best Gym/Community Center for 2011. 

The winning choice was voted upon by residents from around the county. 

As part of the award, the JCC will receive the magazine’s Best of Essex Readers’ Choice Award for 2011. 

"Our agency is proud of the accomplishments of our lay leadership and professional staff in creating an engaging environment and comprehensive programmatic landscape that offers not only excellent facilities, but promotes participation in health and wellness endeavors," said Alan Feldman, Chief Executive Officer, JCC MetroWest. 

"Our commitment to health and wellness is further evidenced by a collaborative effort that has created the Saint Barnabas Wellness Institute at the JCC," Feldman added. "We genuinely appreciate the support of our constituents, friends, and neighbors who have bestowed this recognition upon us."

The Cooperman JCC is located at 760 Northfield Ave., West Orange. 

The facilities include a state-of-the-art Fitness & Wellness Center; 150 group exercise classes a week; two heated pools & indoor walking track; massage & chiropractic services; preschool & kindergarten, summer camps; after school programs; a Senior Center; programs for special needs; community events; and more.
