Menorah Lighting In West Orange Promotes Unity For Hanukkah
The annual event included the illumination of a large menorah, traditional blessings, music and refreshments.
WEST ORANGE, NJ — An annual menorah lighting event recently returned to West Orange Town Hall to mark the second night of Hanukkah.
The town’s menorah lighting took place on Dec. 26. It included the illumination of a large menorah, traditional blessings, music and refreshments (latkes and doughnuts). Rabbi Mendy Kasowitz of the Chabad of West Orange and Mayor Susan McCartney were on hand to host the celebration.
The event symbolized the triumph of light over darkness, and offered participants a chance to reflect on unity and joy during the holiday.
