Not Just For COVID: Essex County Will Expand Mobile Clinics
Essex County is trying to take the mobile-mindset beyond the pandemic, via a new partnership with RWJBarnabas Health.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — During the coronavirus pandemic, Essex County used a mobile clinic to visit residents in their own cities and towns, distributing vaccines and performing COVID-19 tests. Now, the county is trying to take the mobile-mindset beyond the pandemic, via a new partnership with RWJBarnabas Health.
Earlier this month, Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo Jr. and RWJBarnabas Health CEO Mark Manigan announced the launch of a partnership that will offer a variety of health care services and screenings throughout the region.
According to a county news release, the initiative combines the resources of the Essex County Office of Public Health Management and its mobile health unit and the medical resources available through RWJBarnabas Health.

Working together, officials plan to hold a series of new mobile health clinics throughout the county, including medical screenings, vaccines, information and referrals.
“We learned during the pandemic how beneficial it was to reach out to the public and offer to provide vaccines right in their backyard,” DiVincenzo said. “Bringing our mobile health unit and RWJBarnabas Health together is a huge initiative to promoting healthy lifestyles and providing health care access to all our residents.”
