Police: Unmarked Police Car Involved in Hit and Run

Crash lodged car in between pole and building.

Essex County Sheriff's deputies are searching for a car that fled after striking an unmarked police car and caused it to overturn late Wednesday afternoon, officials said Thursday.

According to officials in the sheriff's department, the police car, which was driven by an off-duty detective, was heading West on Nassau Street towards South Valley Road when a car backed out of a parking spot and struck the police car.
