'Signing Day' Marks Big Moment For 6 Student-Athletes In West Orange

Several high school athletes from West Orange will be continuing their sports careers in college.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Six high school athletes from West Orange will be continuing their sports careers in college.

Several student-athletes from West Orange High School committed to their respective schools on signing day, held last week at the Library Media Center.

  • Lili Targonski - Women's Lacrosse- Harris Young College - D2
  • Paige Topping - Women's Soccer- Delaware State University - D1
  • Maddie Reynolds - Women's Soccer - Mercy University - D2
  • Nola Duncan - Women's Volleyball- Towson University- D1
  • Marcus Jackson - Men's Soccer - UCLA - D1
  • London Caldwell - Women's Basketball - Siena University - D1

Superintendent Hayden Moore congratulated the students and called them “role models.” Meanwhile, Athletic Director Steve Zichella said the students are the “embodiment of leadership in action.”

“These athletes did not get here by themselves,” WOHS Principal Oscar Guerrero said, crediting the “sacrifices of their parents and families that have helped us, our teachers and coaches.”
