Some Flooding At East Orange Animal Shelter, But Dogs Are Safe

"Rescue organizations are needed to pull dogs from the East Orange Animal Shelter."

EAST ORANGE, NJ — The good news? The heavy rainfall from Tropical Storm Ida didn’t flood any kennels or hurt any dogs at the East Orange Animal Shelter.

The bad news? The shelter didn’t escape unscathed – and it needs a little help.

On Thursday, the East Orange Animal Alliance posted a call for aid on social media. It read:

“BAD NEWS: the East Orange Animal Shelter experienced some flooding last night, and the phone line was still down as of 11 a.m. today. GOOD NEWS: the kennels did not flood and all of the animals are safe.”

“Rescue organizations are needed to pull dogs from the East Orange Animal Shelter,” the group continued.
