Wae Center Displays Life-Sized Sculptures
The work of eleven artists will be on display through December 17 at the Gaelen Gallery, Leon and Toby Cooperman JCC.

The Wae Center of Jewish Center for the Developmentally Disabled will show the work of eleven lead artists at an exhibit titled Chairs of Inclusion.
They will host a meet and greet with the artists on November 9, from 2pm to 5pm at the Gaelen Gallery East, Leon and Toby Cooperman JCC.

“In honor of the 10th anniversary of JSDD’s Wae Center, ten life sized chairs have been commissioned from professional artists, each of whom has worked with the Center’s member artists to create a chair as an art/sculpture object,” says the Wae Center on their website.
“The chairs represent our commitment/belief that every person is entitled to a ’seat at the table’– in our community and our family lives. The goal of the project is to shift perceptions about people with developmental disabilities and broaden the public’s awareness of policies about inclusion.”

The exhibit will move to the Morris Museum in Morristown, and then the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey in Summit.
