Water Main Break Shutters Roads, Cancels Athletic Awards Ceremony
A water main break in West Orange has been reported on Pleasant Valley Way, forcing road closures and an athletics ceremony to be canceled.

West Orange Township has reported a water main break in the township, forcing road closures and the cancellation of the West Orange High School Athletic Awards Ceremony.
New Jersey American Water Company is currently working to repair the water main break on Pleasant Valley Way, according to Township officials. The area affected is on Pleasant Valley Way, between Eagle Rock Avenue and Curtis Avenue.
West Orange officials said the area may be without water and the duration of the repair is expected to last until 11 p.m. Tuesday, June 9.

Township officials have advised of expected traffic delays and detours in the area of the water main break due to ongoing repairs. Motorists are asked to plan an alternate route of travel.
Additionally, as a result of the water main break, the West Orange High School Athletic Awards Ceremony is canceled this evening. Water has been shut off and there will be no bathroom facilities, according to West Orange Township officials.

The Public Works Department expects water service to be restored by 10 p.m Tuesday. The high school’s athletic awards ceremony has been rescheduled to Wednesday, June 17, at 6:30 p.m. in the West Orange High School Auditorium.
