West Orange Gets Ready To Send Out Tax Bills: 2025 Budget Update

Here's when West Orange homeowners should expect their new property tax bills to arrive in the mail.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — The bill will soon be in the mail, West Orange.

On Tuesday, the township announced that the 2025 final and 2026 preliminary property tax bills are now available online.

The certified tax rate has been set for 2025 and account statements have been updated. Tax bills are currently being processed and will be mailed out during the last week of November.

The fourth quarter grace period is extended until Dec. 22, 2025. After that date, interest is calculated from the statutory due date of Nov. 1, 2025.

The West Orange Town Council gave a final stamp of approval to its long-awaited municipal budget at their meeting on Nov. 12.

The town’s latest spending plan totals just over $100 million. An average West Orange homeowner with a property valued at $615,472 will see an increase of $49 to the municipal portion of their taxes.

It’s been a long ride to the finish line for the town council, which was presented with a proposed 6.2 percent tax hike from the mayor’s office in April: a $243 increase for the average homeowner. However, “revised looks at revenue” and “a lot of cuts” whittled that number down, council members said.
