West Orange Halloween Dog Parade To Benefit Animal League
West Orange will host its first-ever "Barktober Halloween Dog Parade and Costume Contest" on Saturday, Oct. 20.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — West Orange will host its first-ever “Barktober Halloween Dog Parade and Costume Contest” on Saturday, Oct. 20 at O'Connor Memorial Park, 19 Ralph Road.
According to a municipal social media post, all proceeds will benefit the West Orange Animal Welfare League. Additional monetary and shelter necessity donations will be welcomed at the event.
Mayor Robert Parisi and two other “rufferees” will be the costume judges. Contest categories include:

- Best Pack/Family
- Most Creative
- Most Fur-ocious
- Best Couple (Dog & Owner)
Pre-registration is $8 ($10 day of event) and can be done at: www.westorange.org/rec. Make cash or check payable to “West Orange Animal Welfare League.” All dogs must be vaccinated, organizers stated. (Learn more here)
