West Orange High School Receives Donation for Project Graduation

Jersey Mike's Subs has donated to West Orange High School.

A local Jersey Mike’s Subs location donated more than $2,000 to West Orange High School for Project Graduation.

Jersey Mike’s Subs donated $2,495 to the high school on March 9. The franchise opened its doors in West Orange on Dec. 17 and chose West Orange High School for its fundraiser, according to a release from West Orange Public Schools.

During December 2014, a portion of the price of a sub was collected for West Orange High School. West Orange High School decide the money collected would go toward its Project Graduation, which provides high school seniors with a special final night together following their graduation, according to officials from West Orange Public Schools.

Project Graduation features organized, adult-supervised and alcohol-free activities following graduation and lasting into the early morning. The event included numerous chaperons, including parents and teachers in the West Orange school community.

“We are grateful to Jersey Mike’s and their generous contribution to Project Graduation,” West Orange High School Principal Hayden Moore said in the release. “Project Graduation is a long-standing tradition here at West Orange High School and an event our seniors look forward to every year.”

Since 2010, Jersey Mike’s locations have raised nearly $10 million and distributed more than 750,000 free subs to help local causes.
