West Orange High School Winter Color Guard Earns Gold in Competition
The Mid-Atlantic Indoor Network Championships took place in New Brunswick late last month.

The West Orange High School Winter Color Guard took home the gold in last month’s Mid-Atlantic Indoor Network (MAIN) Championships.
The West Orange color guard earned the gold on April 25 with a score of 91.4 in the Scholastic World Class at the competition held at New Brunswick High School, according to officials from West Orange Public Schools. Two weeks prior to the MAIN Championships, betweek April 14-19 the winter guard placed No. 12 out of 23 color guards in the international WGI Scholastic World Class, with a score of 83.15, in Dayton, Ohio.
The 2015 Guard production entitled “Finding Your Voice” included choreography set to Emeli Sande’s “Read All About It,” school district officials said. All 20 members of the West Orange World Guard had individually choreographed roles in the performance. Captains of the 2015 West Orange High School Winter Guard include Jessica Kaiser, Angelica Pozzoli, Anika St. Felix and Brianna Todman.

The winter guard at West Orange High School is in its 12th season and has competed in the international color guard (WGI) circuit for eight years, advancing to the finals of the competition six times.
