West Orange High Schoolers Rock Out In 'The Wedding Singer' Spring Musical

Students are gearing up for the spring musical which will have audiences reliving the best of the 1980s on March 19 through the 22.

The anticipated West Orange High School Spring musical, The Wedding Singer, is set to open March 19 and run through March 22. The production will be held in the auditorium at West Orange High School, 51 Conforti Avenue.

Based on the movie of the same name, the multiple Tony-nominated production of The Wedding Singer features New Jersey Wedding Band frontman (Robbie Hart) who meets a quirky waitress (Julia Sullivan) at a gig the day before he is set to marry the “girl of his dreams.” Comedic hijinks ensue as both Robbie and Julia discover that they are the ones who are really meant for each other.

Adults will wax nostalgic with the 1980s settings and music while the children will be amused by the iconic fashion trends of their parents’ pasts. The original play ran for nearly a year on Broadway with music by Matthew Sklar, lyrics by Chad Beguelin and book by Tim Herlihy.
