“An initiative undertaken in 1943 by the West Orange American Legion Post #22 sought to construct a lasting memorial to all township residents who served in World War II. Post #22 raised funds to create large tablets displaying the names of the men and women who served in the armed forces of the United States during the war including all those killed in action. It was dedicated on Memorial Day 1944 at Town Hall where it is currently on display in the first-floor corridor. It honors and remembers all our West Orange World War II veterans.”
