West Orange Ice Cream Shop Reopens: New Owners, Same Flavors
Guerriero Gelato – formerly Mark & Julie's Homemade Ice Cream – reopened to the public last weekend.
WEST ORANGE, NJ — One of West Orange’s favorite places to get a scoop of ice cream has reopened its doors.
Guerriero Gelato in West Orange – formerly Mark & Julie's Homemade Ice Cream – reopened to the public last weekend. There’s “still work to do,” according to a social media post, but the doors are open again at 476 Pleasant Valley Way.
As seen by the line of eager customers, they’ve got plenty of people who were waiting for the day to come.

West Orange township officials gave the owners a thumbs up, writing: “Congratulations to Guerriero Gelato (formerly Mark & Julie’s) on their grand reopening! The place looks amazing! Don't forget to visit and try their homemade flavors!”

The local shop has carved out a name for itself among ice cream fans in the West Orange area. It was originally owned by its namesakes, Mark and Julie Orenstein, who launched the business in 1994.

After he was diagnosed with cancer, the Orensteins sold the store to Mike and Bre Guerriero, who also have locations in Caldwell, Montclair, Morristown and Pine Brook. Mark Orenstein passed away last year. Read More: Ice Cream Shop In West Orange Mourns Death Of Beloved Founder
The Guerrieros plan to keep the shop’s name and flavors so “the legacy of the shop lives on for generations to come, according to the Mark & Julie’s website.
