WEST ORANGE, NJ — Several schools in West Orange helped to brighten the Thanksgiving holiday for community members with donations of food, pies, music and more.

Kelly, Hazel and Gregory elementary schools and Edison, Liberty and Roosevelt middle schools recently donated food and pies to the Holy Trinity West Orange Food Pantry through drives organized by their student councils.

The West Orange football team helped to load more than 800 turkeys donated by the community. The pantry was able to donate 50 turkeys to Washington School for families in need, 50 turkeys to St. James Food pantry in Newark, and 20 turkeys to the Orange Seniors Association. By that afternoon, more than 900 turkeys and 500 side bags had been distributed – along with pies.
