Senior citizens worried about their property taxes in West Orange may find some welcome help at an upcoming workshop on Friday, Oct. 11.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Senior citizens worried about their property taxes in West Orange may find some welcome help at an upcoming workshop on Friday, Oct. 11.

A “Senior Freeze Property Tax Reimbursement Workshop” will he held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the West Orange Library, 46 Mt. Pleasant Avenue.

The state’s Senior Freeze Property Tax Reimbursement program reimburses eligible New Jersey residents who are senior citizens or disabled persons for property tax increases on their principal residence. Learn more about the program.

According to a municipal notice, the NJ Division of Taxation will present a program that explains eligibility criteria, answers questions and assists with the completion of the application.

Organizers strongly encouraged eligible senior citizens and disabled individuals to apply before the deadline of Oct. 31.
