Rosh Chodesh Gatherings
For the women of Temple Ner Tamid our monthly Rosh Chodesh gatherings, going strong for six amazing years, has been a highlight for all those who attend. Whether you drop in once in a while or every month, our new moon celebrations are filled with song, text, sharing, food, and friendship.
Mark these dates in your calendar for our sessions, including our two wonderful Seders during the months of Shevat and Nisan. All gatherings begin at 7:00 p.m. on Cheshvan October 23.
Hebrew Language Instruction
Beginning Sunday, October 26 at 9:30 a.m.

Interested in learning the alef-bet? What to polish up your Hebrew? Would you like to be more fluent with your prayers at Shabbat services? This year, we are offering a Beginning Hebrew class. By the end of the year expect to have learned the alef-bet and feel comfortable reading the prayers in Hebrew in the siddur.
The class will meet on Sunday mornings whenever Religious School is in session beginning Sunday, October 26 at 9:30 a.m.

Cost: $180 plus cost of materials. $120 plus cost of materials for students enrolled in the Adult Bar/Bat Mitzvah class.

Make Real and Lasting Change One Week at a Time with Mussar Yoga
Tuesday, October 28 at 7:30 p.m.
Mussar Yoga skillfully blends an ancient, Jewish, spiritual practice of self-inquiry and change with Patanjali’s 8 Limbs of Yoga. It empowers you to live a more whole and holy life--to connect more fully to the Divine within.
Join Edith Brotman, author of Mussar Yoga for a workshop at which you will learn more about this artful blend of an ancient, Jewish spiritual practice of self-inquiry and change with Patanjali’s 8 Limbs of Yoga. We will be working on the traits (middot) of humility, equanimity and trust. Expect a combination of yoga poses and discussion. You will leave the workshop with an understanding of the basic Mussar Yoga practices in order to begin your own transformative Mussar Yoga journey.

Havdalah Cafe: Billy Jonas & the Billy Jonas Band
Saturday, November 1 at 7:30 p.m.
Throw out the rules when Billy Jonas hits the stage! It’s a musical conversation… a sonic celebration… a splendiferous gathering of old and young because at a Billy Jonas show, the ensemble is… everyone! The music mixes conventional instruments (guitar, bass, marimba) with homemade creations (using buckets and barrels, keys and cans, bells and body percussion.

Adult B’Nai Mitzvah - Registration Now Open
Temple Ner Tamid is once again offering its Adult Bar/Bat Mitzvah class. This is your opportunity to learn more about Judaism; prepare for the bar/bat mitzvah that you never had; or to have another chance to make it meaningful.
Taught by both Rabbi Kushner and Cantor Greenberg, learn about Jewish history, the Bible and Jewish liturgy. Class discussion will include theology, Jewish practices, life cycles and Reform Judaism. You will also study the Torah portion and prepare our d’var for the B’nai Mitzvah ceremony in the spring of 2016.
This is a very rewarding experience for everyone. The Hebrew Language class is highly recommended for participants.
The class takes place on Thursday evenings, 8:00 to 9:30 p.m., starting Thursday, November 6. The two year program costs $180 per year. To register please contact Laurie Schifano at lschifano@nertamid.org.
