WEST ORANGE, NJ — Weather forecasters are predicting the first widespread snow of the winter season in New Jersey this week, with some ugliness potentially headed West Orange's way.

Snow accumulation will only be a light dusting for most of the Garden State, forecasters say. But a combination of rain, wind and chilly temperatures could create dangerous conditions for drivers. Read More: Overnight Snow For NJ (Latest Accumulation Estimates)

The West Orange area may see rain and/or snow on Wednesday night and Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). There is a wind advisory in effect from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday.

Here is the local weather forecast for West Orange this week, according to the NWS:

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 37. South wind 7 to 9 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday Night: A chance of rain and snow before 4am, then a chance of rain. Cloudy, with a steady temperature around 36. Southwest wind 10 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Thursday: A chance of rain showers before 10am, then a slight chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a temperature rising to near 38 by 10am, then falling to around 33 during the remainder of the day. Wind chill values between 20 and 30. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 26. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. Breezy, with a west wind 16 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 39 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 33. Northwest wind 11 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 24.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 36.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 27.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 43.
