“The new state-of-the-art building is complete with eight medical exam rooms, six dental operatories, a demonstration kitchen, and lab space in a newly constructed 15,000-square-foot facility.”

Zufall said has seen a surge in demand since opening on Northfield Avenue in 2014, with patient numbers growing from 1,900 in 5,000 visits during the first full year of operation to 5,000 patients receiving care in 17,000 visits this year.

According to the Zufall Health website, patients are charged a “sliding scale fee” based on their income and family size. No patients are turned away due to their inability to pay.

CEO Frances Palm said the new facility on Mount Pleasant Avenue – relative to the office at 95 Northfield Avenue – will allow Zufall to double its medical capacity, triple its dental capacity and bring all of its West Orange operations under one roof.

The new building was designed by Carminio Architecture and constructed by the Whiting-Turner Contracting Company.

The new facility got financial support from the Healthcare Foundation of NJ, Delta Dental Foundation, Partners for Health Foundation, the Zufall family, Hyde and Watson Foundation, and the family and friends of Zufall Dentist and Dental Residency Director Howard Rappoport.
