2 Woodbridge Cops Charged After Drunken Fight: Reports
Zachary L. Manente, 25, and Jacob D. Manente, 24, who are brothers, were arrested by Ocean City police last month, police said.
WOODBRIDGE, NJ - Two Woodbridge police officers were arrested on assault charges in Ocean City, Maryland last month, according to a police bulletin.
Zachary L. Manente, 25, and Jacob D. Manente, 24, who are brothers, were arrested at a condo on the 200 block of 5th Street in the beach town on Aug. 26, according to police records. Both were charged with second-degree assault at around 12 a.m.
Both suffered minor injuries after a drunken fight,NJ.com reported. Woodbridge Chief Law Enforcement Officer Scott Kuzma told the publication that the brothers are currently on administrative duty.

Per MyCentralJersey, Zachary Manente served as a police officer with Woodbridge Police since 2019 and earns around $65,800, while Jacob Manente has served since 2021 and earns roughly $27,700.
Ocean City’s Dispatch reported that the brothers fabricated a story about an unknown assailant following the brothers from a nightclub before the pair were attacked. Zachary reportedly told police that the pair fell as they were trying to get home, causing the injuries, per the Dispatch. A witness, however, told police they observed a physical altercation between the two brothers.

The pair are set for an Oct. 11 court date.
