WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A Sikh religious group seeks to build a three-story temple on the Carteret-Woodbridge border.
The temple is proposed to be built at 941 Port Reading Avenue in the part of Port Reading that is technically in Carteret. There is currently a parking lot there now.
That lot is owned by Gurudwara Singh Sabha, a Sikh religious group, and they already have a small indoor temple there.

They seek to make it bigger, and build a three-story house of worship at the site, according to an application filed with the Carteret Zoning Board. Gurudwara Singh Sabha provided that rendering above of how the temple will look. It will be a three-story building consisting of a large main prayer hall, with multi-purpose rooms and kitchen space.

The Carteret Zoning Board will hear the application at their meeting at 6 p.m. next Tuesday, July 16.
