Man Dies In Fire At Middlesex County Mobile Home Park Off Rt. 1
The fire broke out at 4:20 a.m. Wednesday at Hiram's mobile home park on Rt. 1 north.
WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A man died in an early morning fire Wednesday in a mobile home park in Woodbridge.
The fire broke out at 4:20 a.m. at the Hiram's mobile home community on Rt. 1 north, in the Avenel section of Woodbridge, according to the Avenel Fire Department. Fire crews from Avenel, Woodbridge and Port Reading worked quickly to respond and put out a fire inside one of the mobile homes.
The homeowner, a 65-year-old man, was found by firefighters unresponsive sitting in a chair in the kitchen, said Fire Official Cory Spillar. Firefighters pulled him from the burning trailer and he was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of the fire appears to be accidental in nature, Spillar said. The fire started in the kitchen.
The mobile home park is located on South Inman Avenue and North Second Street.
