7 Trains Delayed Between Queens, Manhattan After Worker Is Hurt: MTA

An injured worker at Grand Central forced 7 trains to be suspended between Manhattan and Queens at the start of Thursday's rush hour.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — Thursday's afternoon rush hour hit a snag as 7 trains were suspended between Queens and Manhattan, according to the MTA.

Just before 5 p.m., trains stopped running between 34th Street-Hudson Yards and Queensboro Plaza as the MTA requested paramedics for an injured employee at Grand Central-42nd Street, the MTA said in a tweet.

Around 15 minutes later, service had resumed, but with "extensive delays," according to the MTA. Few details about the incident were available.

During the brief shutdown, the MTA advised commuters to take the E-F-M or N-R-W lines for service between Queens and Manhattan.
