Astoria Man Threatens To Bomb LI Police Precinct After Arrest
An Astoria man was arrested after trying to break into a Long Island home, then threatened to blow up the police precinct, officers said.
WESTBURY, NY — An Astoria man was arrested early Wednesday on charges that he tried to break into a Long Island home, then threatened to blow up the police station as Nassau County police officers processed his arrest.
Police said Emad Newaz, 25, tried to force his way into a home in Westbury, Long Island about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, but a woman who lived there started screaming and called the police.
Officers cuffed the man and brought him to the police station. While they processed his arrest, Newaz threatened to bomb the precinct, the police claim.

He was arraigned Wednesday on charges of attempted burglary, criminal mischief and making a terroristic threat.
