Astoria Robber Shoves Woman, Snatches Her Purse, Police Say
The 36-year-old woman was robbed in broad daylight on New Year's Day while walking down an Astoria street, according to police.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — A woman was shoved to the ground and robbed while walking down an Astoria street on New Year's Day, according to police, who asked for help finding the suspect.
The 36-year-old woman was walking along 29th Street just south of 31st Avenue around 2:40 p.m. on Jan. 1, when the suspect approached from behind and pushed her to the ground, police said.
He then grabbed the woman's purse and fled on foot, police said.

The woman was treated at the scene for minor injuries, according to police.
Police on Thursday released surveillance images showing the suspect, and asked anyone with information to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). People can also submit tips online or on Twitter, @NYPDTips.
