Queensbridge Tech Lab Expands Opening Hours To Four Days A Week
The Queens Public Library is expanding the hours of its tech lab at Queensbridge Houses from three to four days a week.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — The Queens Public Library is expanding the hours of its tech lab at Queensbridge Houses from three to four days a week.
The tech lab, located at 10-43 41st Ave., will be open one additional day each week to celebrate Queens Public Library's 70th anniversary of serving the nation's largest public housing complex, a library spokesperson announced Wednesday.
The tech lab hosts tutorials and workshops on computer use, audio and video editing, graphic design, 3D printing, web development, computer programming and video game design.

It also offers access to the Queensbridge Connected wireless network and expensive computer programs like the Adobe Creative Suite.

"Expanding our services at the Queensbridge Houses Tech Lab will help residents and others who live nearby develop the high-demand skills and knowledge needed for many positions in today’s job market," Queens Public Library President and CEO Dennis M. Walcott said.
Queens Public Library's space at Queensbridge Houses opened in 1949 as a library branch and family literacy center, according to a library spokesperson. It converted into the tech lab in 2017.
The tech lab receives funding from the Mayor's Office of the Chief Technology Officer.
