ASTORIA, QUEENS — More people bought newly developed condos in this Astoria building last month than in almost any other building citywide, according to a new report.

All told, 421 people signed contracts for new developments across the city in Aug., according to analysis from Marketproof, a real estate analytics company, first reported by The Real Deal.

Among the best-selling developments, which reported the largest number of contracts each, is a project at 32-86 33 Street in Astoria. While the real estate site didn't specify how many contracts were signed in the 65-unit building, only two other projects in Brooklyn can compete with its popularity, The Real Deal reported.

While the sheer number of resale contracts outpaced the new development market last month — 533 resale contracts were signed in Aug. according to The Real Deal — that still marked a 7 percent decline for the resale market since July, the site reported.

By contrast, August's activity in the new development condos market was up 16 percent from July's, according to The Real Deal.

“What it shows is a preference for new,” Kael Goodman, CEO of Marketproof and the report’s author, told the real estate site.

“We had another amazing, amazing month,” Goodman told The Real Deal. “No Delta dip.”
