Bayside Cyclist Dies After Falling Off Bike, Police Say
An NYPD spokesperson said the department didn't know what caused the cyclist to fall, but, as far as he knew, no cars were involved.

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — A cyclist in Bayside died Thursday night after falling off his bike near Fort Totten Park, according to the NYPD.
The 54-year-old man was cycling on the Vanderbilt Parkway bike path near Fort Totten Avenue and the Cross Island Parkway about 7:30 p.m. when he fell off his bike, police said.
He was taken to a nearby hospital, but doctors couldn't save his life, according to the NYPD.

An NYPD spokesperson did not know what caused the man to fall off his bike.
There wasn't a car involved in the accident, as far as the police department knows, he said.
