The City Council is expected to vote today on a bill that would require businesses to provide paid sick leave to workers.
Under the legislation, businesses with 20 or more employees would have to give workers five paid sick days per year.
If the Council approves the bill, it would go into effect on April 1, 2014.
Businesses with 15 or more employees would be forced to provide paid sick leave by October 2015.
