Construction on Little Neck, Grand Central Parkways Could Cause Headaches for Commuters

Large swaths of Little Neck and Grand Central parkways are in the process of being milled and, in the coming weeks, paved, meaning drivers will have proceed with caution if they want to avoid a bumpy ride.

Work down both roads is centered at the intersection of Little Neck and Grand Central parkways. On Little Neck Parkway, the road is torn up until 260th Street. On Grand Central, work is being done all the way up to the border of Nassau County, which begins around Hewlett Street.

Milling is being done Tuesday and Wednesday, and Department of Transportation workers on the scene said paving itself will begin within two weeks.

The QM5 bus has also been impacted, so riders should use stops at 260th or Cullman streets while construction is taking place.
