Dec. 4-5: True Holiday Spirit

Avoid the crowds at the mall with these family-centered community activities

Happy weekend, Little Neck! If you're like us, you'll be on the lookout for opportunities today and tomorrow to get out of the house with the family — preferably to a place that's not the mall. With that goal in mind, here's some family-friendly, affordable, community-based options for this third weekend before Christmas and fourth and fifth night of Hanukkah:

1. Join many of your neighbors at Divine Wisdom Academy's Christmas Fair, which begins at the Douglaston parochial school at 9 a.m. Saturday morning and runs to 5 p.m.

3. Any art lovers in your house? At National Art League this weekend, there's a rare treat for any cultural aficionado: an exhibition filled with works you can take home with you, .
