Flooding On Little Neck Parkway

A heavily-traveled section of roadway beneath the Long Island Expressway has been closed due to flooding, just in time for the Wednesday evening rush.

Police have blocked off Little Neck Parkway at the L.I.E.

Northbound traffic is being diverted to Horace Harding Expressway into Nassau County.

Southbound motorists have an easier time of it, with traffic moving fairly smoothly onto Horace Harding west towards Marathon Parkway.

A storm accompanied by several inches of rain caused minor flooding in several other locations around Little Neck. No other road closures have been reported.
