George Santos's Resume Called Into Question By New Report
The New York Times issued a bombshell report on the Bayside's Representative-elect's resume that raised concerns about his past work.

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — Republican lawmaker George Santos' resume has been called into question by a New York Times report.
Santos, who flipped the formerly blue District 3 when he defeated Democrat Robert Zimmerman in November’s midterm elections, included in his resume universities and former jobs the Times could not confirm in its review of public documents, court filings and through interviews.
Santos did not respond to the Times' multiple requests for more information about his resume and declined to be interviewed, but later issued a statement decrying the Times' reporting.

His statement echoes one attorney Joe Murray gave the Times, that it was “no surprise that Congressman-elect Santos has enemies at The New York Times who are attempting to smear his good name with these defamatory allegations.”
The Times report challenges Santos' work at Citigroup as an associate asset manager and at Goldman Sachs, as well as the 34-year-old's statement that he helped run a tax-exempt organization.

The news outlet confirmed that the Internal Revenue Service was unaware of such an organization, according to the report.
Santos represents parts of Bayside, Great Neck, and Long Island, and won last month’s elections with over 54.2 percent of the votes.
This story was updated on Dec. 22 to include Santos' response, posted to Twitter.
