Where and When: Queens Botanical Garden. On Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Why Go: The exhibit features the effects that recyclable waste has on the growth of fish.
Price: Free with admission, $4 adults, $3 seniors 62+, $2 for children 2-12 and students with ID

2. Family Fun Day
Where and When: Crocheron Park, at 33rd Road and 215th Place. On Saturday from noon to 3 p.m.
Why Go: This three-hour event will be packed with fun activities for the kids. Bring the pets for microchipping, and cross your fingers that you get one of a number of giveways.
Price: Free to attend.

3. Local
Where and When: At 39-24 Bell Boulevard. On Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
Why Go: Because you’re due for a drink with friends. The open space and stocked bar is the perfect setting for mingling.
Price: Drink prices vary.

4. Four Course Prix Fixe Dinner
Where and When: Bourbon Street. On Friday from 4 p.m. to midnight.
Why Go: Because nobody wants to cook on a Friday and you won’t get this kind of meal for the price anywhere else.
Price: $22.95 Per Person

5. The Attic Bar & Lounge
Where and When: At 44-25 Douglaston Parkway. On Friday or Saturday night.
Why Go: Sometimes everyone needs a little live music, drinks and staying out until 4 a.m.
Price: No cover. Food and drink prices vary.
