'Grown On LI' Market To Debut At Queens Farm
A new farmers market featuring fresh produce from the other side of the Queens-Nassau border is debuting this weekend at the Queens Farm.

FLORAL PARK, QUEENS — A new farmers market featuring fresh produce from the other side of the Queens-Nassau border is debuting this weekend at the Queens County Farm Museum.
The "Grown on LI" farmers market will set up shop from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Sunday and the following Sunday, rain or shine, according to a news release.
Each market will host up to 10 vendors offering fruits, vegetables, craft beverages and flowers, among other items.

The market is the product of a partnership between the Long Island Farm Bureau, the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Nassau County and the Queens County Farm Museum.
Its intent is to connect local customers to some of the 550 agricultural operations that produce local food and products on Long Island, organizers said.

"Long Island farms produce an impeccably high quality and diversity of agricultural goods," Long Island Farm Bureau Administrative Director Rob Carpenter said in a statement. "We hope consumers take advantage of this opportunity to learn from and shop with their neighboring East End farmers at this event and throughout the summer and fall seasons for years to come.”
