Little Neck Firefighter To Make Game Show Appearance

Fire captain Paul Smith to try his hand at "Wheel of Fortune" on Friday

Anyone have a vowel to spare?

Chances are firefighter Paul Smith of Little Neck might still be able to use one.

Smith will be a contestant on “Wheel of Fortune” on Friday. And, according to the show's producers, he might be in good practice to call in the right answers for hosts Pat Sajak and Vanna White.

"Paul is a big fan of 'Wheel' and loves watching the show with his family," they said in a release today. "When his daughter went away to college, they would often call each other after the show each night to see who solved the most puzzles."

Smith has been married for 26 years and has two children. In his free time he enjoys volunteering at his church, kayaking and brewing his own beer, according to Wheel's producers.
