Little Neck Parkway Partially Blocked By Snow... Again

Right thru-lane blocked by about one foot of snow at 39th Road

Update 12:10 p.m.: Douglaston Civic Association president Eliott Socci had this to say about unplowed snow on Little Neck Parkway: "No one, except for the few houses on Sandhill Road, should be using that road," he said. "They should be traveling down Douglaston Parkway."

For Erik Tielis, a Little Neck small business owner with his own snowplow, the unusual string of significant winter storms made him perhaps the busiest man or woman in the neighborhood. Since last month's blizzard, Tielis said he's been fully booked running plows from Westmoreland to Williamsburg in Brooklyn.

"There's a lot of snow, and the city can't keep up with it," Tielis said. "For me, it's 'white gold.'"
