Questions regarding when (or whether) teens should seek part-time employment

Chances are, most parents spent much of their mid-to-late teens performing a variety of tasks — sometimes for money, sometimes not.

Egged on by their own parents' desire to instill a good work ethic, many of today's parents learned from an early age how to juggle a part-time job with responsibilities at home and at school.

But with specialized high schools and colleges more selective than ever and entrance exams playing a greater and greater role in our kids' academic futures, is piling more responsibility on today's teens really a good idea?
