Samuel Field Y to Host Classes, Pool Parties for Developmentally Disabled Children

Gym, swimming classes and pool parties all kick off in July.

The Samuel Field Y will host summer programs for preschool children with developmental disabilities and several pool parties in July.

On Mondays, the Y, located at 58-20 Little Neck Parkway, will offer gym and creative exploration for children between the ages of 3 and 5 years who have developmental disabilities and their families. This program begins July 5.

And the Y’s Summer Sensations swimming program will kick off on July 11. This program, which will be held every Thursday between 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., at the Bay Terrace Center, located at 212-00 23rd Ave.

The Y’s pool parties will take place from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on July 9 and Aug. 6. The parties will also be held at the Bay Terrace Center.

Programs will cost $5 per family and snacks will be serviced. Those interested in attending may join the programs at any time during the summer.

All of the programs are made possible by a grant from the state’s Office for People with Developmental Disabilities.
