Glen Oaks Teen Found Shot To Death Near Home: Cops

A teenager was shot to death then dumped on the street around the corner from his Glen Oaks home, according to police and news reports.

GLEN OAKS, QUEENS — A teenager was shot to death then dumped in the street just around the corner from his Glen Oaks home, according to police and news reports. Police found 19-year-old Jay Patel unconscious on 268th Street by 83rd Avenue about 1 p.m. Wednesday after a passerby spotted the body and called 911, the New York Post reported.

Patel was shot in the stomach, police said. EMS brought Patel to North Shore University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses saw at least two suspects racing off in a red Toyota Camry from the spot where Patel's body was later found, the Post reported.

No arrests have been made in the case.

According to Newsday, Patel was a student at Nassau Community College this semester.
